Planning user paths and creation of graphic design, roadmap of
developers' work and project’s kick-off.
2020July - August
Programming work & manual tests related to QMS mobile application
development.
2020September
Completion of development and release of the application in the
Google Play store and AppStore.
About the application
The QMS mobile application is part of an entire system of queue management
at various facilities in the financial, government and medical sectors
worldwide. Thanks to the application, the user is able to make an
appointment at the selected facility and regularly monitor the status of
their queue.
Features
Making appointments at facilities online
Monitoring queue status
Remote notification of stakeholders via the application
Project’s goal
The client used an already prepared web-based queuing system developed by
our other team, IT-solve. What remained to be done was to prepare a mobile
application that would communicate with the system efficiently and provide
users with convenient access to the appointment function anywhere and
anytime. This was done by FlutterMate, a dedicated team of mobile
application experts.
Mobile app development process
1
Transfer of system knowledge and application requirements
We transferred the relevant knowledge of the system and requirements of
the application between the teams. We planned the scope of work for the
mobile app and defined the communication technologies between the mobile
app and the web system. We prepared an overall roadmap for the project.
2
Product Design
Using the web application views and the set of requirements, we completed
an accelerated design process.
AUser flow and simple information architecture
Equipped with a set of required functionalities and knowledge of the
web system, our UX designer designed optimal user paths based on the
web system, which we grouped into a coherent information
architecture.
BLo-Fi and Hi-FI
Simplified views of the application were designed for the paths, and
then based on the current views from the web application, colors
were implemented according to the adopted style guide
3
Mobile App Development
Once the client approved the graphic design, we began to develop the
application.
AAssembling the development team
We assembled the development and testing team, taking into account
the necessary competencies for the application production.
BAn in-depth technical description of functionalities and
roadmap
Treating the user flow as a foundation, the developers (supervised
by the project manager) planned the functionalities from a technical
point of view, in order to eliminate the risk of postponing the
development. Next, they prepared the final project roadmap.
CStarting the step-by-step development of functionalities
The app development began and the first features were implemented.
DQuality assurancee
We ensured quality by means of test scenarios and multiple manual
tests conducted during the development process. The client was
confident that the application would be bug-free
EApproval and deployment
When all the functionalities were implemented and tested by our
team, it was time for our client to approve the application and then
release it to the Google Play and AppStore stores.
Result
The client received a cross platform mobile application made using
Flutter technology, which connects to the entire QMS system and provides
a convenient way for users to make appointments at selected facilities
online. From a business standpoint, the application added tremendous
value to the project, namely the mobility of the service.
